Knowing the filterability index allows:
- Understanding of the state of the wine to allow the choice of the best filtration system to be adopted
- A review of the results after filtration of wines
- The control of clogging effect of service waters
- A substantial savings, thanks to improved control of all processes of filtration and regeneration of filters
Furthermore the processes of membrane filtration, are characterized by high efficiency in removing the contaminant, but usually by a limited storage capacity of retain matter. Therefore, the presence of solids and colloids in the product to be micro-filtered is often the critical point of this type of technology. In order to optimise the process is however essential that the filterability of the product is such to make its filtration technically and economically viable.
The Q.F.T. (the precursor of the most recent versions QUALITY FIT and MASTERMIND QFT) is present since the 90’s in the best wine laboratories in Italy, to secure the membrane processes as required by the procedures validated by certification authorities.
