Aqueous dispersion of silicon dioxides, with rapid clarifying action
The presence of hydroxyl groups (OH), distributed on the surface of the colloidal micelle, give the particles a negative charge and thus the ability to form electrostatic bonds with positively charged substances, such as most gelatines and proteins.
Due to these characteristics, 30 SIL is used in combination with gelatine (e.g. Gelaxina® P.O. or Gelaxina® Fluid P) or other protein clarifying agents (Albuclar®, Premium® Fish). Together they form a lattice that by precipitating makes the fluid clear, with a more compact deposit compared to traditional clarifications.
